PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

DIVISION

While almost all of us are familiar with the term ‘lean manufacturing’ we seem to avoid or even forget that getting a product to market as competitively and as quickly as possible cannot happen without a lean approach from day one.

‘Lean product development’ tackles the elimination of waste at the product development stage - the first manufacturing step.

In an environment where lean product development can flourish, WPW have identified that a product development division, separate but supported by a first class ‘batch’ manufacturing facility, is the answer to ‘Lean product development’.

The division managed by experienced 'hands on' engineers dedicated to working closely with customers design engineers. We can use CAD- DXF, DWG, IGES, SAT files, wire frame or solid models, prototypes or even a hand drawn sketch’ to make typical working samples often within 24 hours.

Working samples are produced to identify product suitability for purpose. Critical features and dimensions can be identified through this process. Our mission is to compress non value-added time in areas of design assessment, change, approval and documentation.

Ongoing controlled and early repeatable processes can be identified in association with our Pressings and Assembly Division, meaning minimum time spent at final SQA approval and getting your product to market.
